Claude training

Claude training for teams in the UK and Ireland

Softblues (softblues.io) trains teams in UK and Irish firms to use Claude in their everyday work. Sessions are run by role and built on the documents, templates and tasks each team already has, so people leave knowing what to do with Claude on Monday rather than what the product can do. Softblues is Certified in the Claude Partner Network and has Claude-certified engineers on the team. At Key Capital, an Irish corporate finance firm, 35 of 45 staff use Claude several times a week after nine weekly sessions led by Softblues.

Key facts

  • Who it is for

Firms in the UK and Ireland with Claude Team or Enterprise licences, or about to buy them, with roughly 50 or more knowledge workers and often in regulated sectors.

  • Format

Short online sessions by role, on your own files, spread over several weeks so people practise between them. In Ireland we can also meet the team on site at the start, to get to know it and shape the programme.

  • What people learn

Projects, the Microsoft 365 connector, Skills, scheduled work in Cowork, Claude for Excel, and your firm's own rules on what goes in and what comes out.

  • Proof

At Key Capital, nine weekly sessions; 35 of 45 staff now use Claude several times a week, and staff scored the training 4.3 out of 5.

  • Partner status

Softblues is an OpenAI Select Partner, Certified in the Claude Partner Network, a Google Cloud partner at Services Select tier, and a member of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program.

  • How it is priced

Scoped with you and priced in the proposal.

What does the training cover?

How to use Claude on the work each team already does, inside the rules your firm has set.

  1. Foundations for everyone

What Claude is good at, where it gets things wrong, and your acceptable-use policy: what may go in, and who checks what comes out.

  2. Sessions by role

A deal team reads a 200-page pack.Compliance checks a file against a procedure.Finance builds the monthly pack in Claude for Excel.Operations drafts to a house template. Each group works on its own material.

  3. Projects and Skills

When a way of doing a task works, it becomes a shared instruction with the checks in it, so the method stays with the firm and not with one person.

  4. What the connector can see

The Microsoft 365 connector reads what each person can already read. People learn why that makes your permissions the control, not Claude.

  5. Champions

One person per department owns the procedure text for their team's Skills, with about two hours a week protected for the first quarter.

Why train by role instead of running a general course?

Because people keep using a tool when it does a task they already have.

A feature tour shows people what the product can do. A session on their own file shows them what to do with it on Monday. Before Key Capital's training, only a small proportion of its staff used generative AI for work. After nine weekly sessions, 35 of 45 use Claude several times a week.

“Every staff member participated in Claude training by Softblues and all I can say is that it was world-class. 35 of our 45 staff use Claude several times per week, and the rest are finding their feet with it more gradually.”

Do you run Claude training in both the UK and Ireland?

Yes. Softblues is based in London and trains teams in the UK and Ireland. Key Capital, our reference client for Claude training, is an Irish firm serving clients in Ireland and Britain.

Firms in Ireland have one extra reason to keep a record of training. Article 4 of the EU AI Act asks providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures to ensure their staff have a sufficient level of AI literacy, and it has applied since 2 February 2025. Training by role with a record of who attended is a practical way to show that. It is not legal advice, and your legal adviser decides what is enough.

The sessions themselves run online in both countries. For Irish firms, a member of our team can visit at the start to meet the people involved and shape the programme around their work.

Data residency is the same question in both countries. Claude's own surfaces store data in the United States, so for most UK and Irish firms the work is documentation: a DPIA, a transfer risk assessment and a register entry. It is not a barrier.

How is a training programme set up?

The free Academy courses are good, and we point administrators to them. What they cannot do is show your compliance team how to check your files against your procedure.

When is training not the answer?

When the set-up underneath it is not ready, or when Claude is not the right tool.

  • If licences, sign-in or permissions are not in place, start with deployment and activation.
  • If nobody will own the procedure text for each team, you are buying a very good chat box, and the training will fade.
  • If your firm lives in Microsoft 365 and needs light drafting help, Microsoft 365 Copilot may be enough. See Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption.

Common questions about Claude training

How long does Claude training take?

It depends on how many teams are in scope. Key Capital ran nine weekly sessions for the whole firm. Softblues sets the plan with you and puts it in the proposal.

Do our staff need Claude licences before the training?

For hands-on work on your own files, yes: Claude Team or Enterprise, set up with sign-in and the connectors you need. If you have not chosen a plan yet, start with Claude deployment.

Can you help a team that already has Claude but barely uses it?

Yes, and it is a common starting point. Softblues first looks at who is using Claude and for what, talks to the people who stopped, and builds the sessions around the tasks they gave up on.

Are the sessions online or on site?

The training sessions run online, so teams in different offices can join the same programme. In Ireland, a member of the Softblues team can visit at the start to meet the team and shape the programme.

Do you use our confidential documents in the sessions?

Sessions run in your own Claude workspace, on material you choose, under the permissions your IT team has set.

Do you also train teams on Microsoft 365 Copilot or ChatGPT?

Yes. Softblues works across Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT and Gemini. See Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption and AI rollout and training.

Does Claude training help with the EU AI Act?

Article 4 asks for a sufficient level of AI literacy among staff who use AI systems, and it has applied since 2 February 2025. A role-based programme with a record of attendance helps you show it. Your legal adviser decides what is enough for your firm.

Who runs the sessions?

The Softblues team, including Claude-certified engineers. We run our own company on Claude, so the examples come from daily use. See the Softblues Claude operating system.

How is the training priced?

Softblues scopes it with you and prices it in the proposal. The price depends on how many teams and sessions are involved.
